Ye Yulong – Brief Biography

The Beginning

I joined the Singapore Chin Woo Athletic Association in 1985 at the age of 15, training under Master Liao De Nan, Master Kwan Yoon Cheong, Master Chia Seng Jin, and Master Chow Tung in Chin Woo Shaolin boxing, weapons, and sparring routines.

 

In 1986, I passed the Association’s Elementary Wushu Examination.
In 1995, I passed the Advanced Wushu Examination.

1) 1987 National Wushu Championships

Champion – Junior Boys Traditional Long Fist Routine
Champion – Junior Boys Traditional Short Weapons Routine
Champion – Junior Boys Traditional Long Weapons Routine
Champion – Junior Boys Traditional Long Fist All-Round (Three Events)
In 1987, I joined the Singapore National Wushu Team, training under Sichuan Wushu Team’s “Monkey King” Xiong Changgui, specialising in long fist, broadsword, and spear competition routines.

2) 1989 National Wushu Championships
3rd Place – Men’s Optional Long Fist
Selected as Singapore National Wushu Team training squad member (1989–1990).

3) 1991 National Wushu Championships
Champion – Men’s Traditional Long Fist

4) 1993
Studied Shaolin Mizong Black Tiger Fist under He Bingsheng, Shanghai Chin Woo Athletic Association.

5) 1996
Studied Shaolin Mizong Five Tiger Fist under Li Zihuai, Shanghai Chin Woo Athletic Association.

6) 1997
Obtained the Singapore Martial Arts Control Unit (MACU) Wushu Coach Licence.

Met Master Lam Wing Kit of Hong Kong Chin Woo Athletic Association and studied Southern Shaolin Hung Gar.
Represented Singapore Chin Woo in the 1997 Hong Kong Handover World Chin Woo Martial Arts Performance, performing Er Lang Single Broadsword and Liu He Spear.
